Driving test location

Postby jingzai » Wed Aug 02, 2006 8:57 am

Hi, I did driving lessons in Hither Green and in Ipswich at the same time. I quite like the instructor in Hither green, and we have covered all the manuovers. The instructor in Ipswich is not that good, and I only took it as practicing.
Now, I would like to book my first driving test. The passing rate in Ipswich is much higher than that in Hither Green. Where should I take the test then?

The best person to ask where you should take your driving test is your instructor your going to take your test with. The reason why the pass rate is so low is because people go for there test before they are ready for it. The pass rate is always higher in areas where people can afford to have more lessons. If your learning to drive around hither green it's a good idea to take your test at hither green.

I have had about 28 hours lessons, and I guess I will do more before my test. Will the traffic situation be much worse than that in Ipswich, which then affects the passing rate?

Do you mean are some driving test centers easyer to pass than others due to volume of traffic and area they are located? That will depend on what kind of area and roads you are use to driving on. If you live in a rural area where you are use to driving on wide open high speed roads and not driven in town that much, coming to hither green to take your test might be a mistake. Howether I am sure driving test centers in the middle of knowere still have busy towns close by where you might have to drive through. I don't advise you to book a test miles away just because the pass rate might be 40%, if you are use to driving around this area the local test centre is your best bet, but speak to your instructor first and see what he says. Thats just my pennysworth.

What ever you decide good luck

Peter.

DSA, Those who pass their driving test have had, on average, about 45 hours of professional training combined with 22 hours of private practice. Learners who prepare this way, with a combination of plenty of professional training and plenty of practice, do better in the test.
